As I walk around in the woods, there is always something new to discover. Slowly the leaves begin to change color and the foliage thins. I feel alone and absorbed in the peace. What a wonderful place to be. Yet I do not feel alone. It is as if someone is watching with me.
The tawny owl has a fixed spot in the forest and is closely watching his surroundings, hoping to see something that will satisfy his hunger. It is still too light for hunting. Soon, when it is dark then those strange two-legged creatures will be gone too.
We look at each other and I realize I am a guest. The forest belongs to nature, but I am still allowed to take something from it. I won't forget this experience.
The warm colors of the autumn forest and the mysterious gaze of the owl give a sense of a warm atmosphere.
