About ‘Bedouin man in Petra, Jordan.’ by Wim van Gerven

In the newly built village of Umm Sayhoun, near the famous city of Petra in Jordan live so-called Bdul Bedouins. Until the 1980s in the last century, they led a semi-nomadic existence: in the summer they moved around with tents and in the winter they inhabited the caves and caverns of Petra. After the 1980s, they moved to Umm Sayhoun. Here now lives a close-knit community of some three thousand inhabitants who have adapted to modern times: they work in tourism as guides or souvenir sellers. Only a few still herd animals.

I met this young man who made his money selling souvenirs in Petra during my vacation in Petra. He caught my eye because of his traditional head covering. But he has also visibly adapted to current times. This can be seen in the rest of his his clothing.
When asked, he wanted to be photographed and asked me if I would send him the photo via Instagram. I did. Since then I've had a nice contact with him! How so, adapted to modern times?

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
