This acrobat did have erge dost you might say.
In the Senegalese village where we were guests, we were allowed to pitch our tents in the courtyard of a building.
This was the local town hall cum school.
Outside, it was quiet but dry and dusty.
There was very little to do so I just wandered around the building looking for nature.
This little bird regularly came to quench her thirst from the copper tap at the front.
It turned out to be a Beautiful Sunbird female who could reach the tap just above the ground.
Sometimes she had to wait a while before the next drop passed.
By prayerfully hovering in front of it and using her water source.
In the surrounding area, people handled the scarce water available with care.
It will be satisfying for children taught there to take an occasional sip from it.
You then have to close the tap properly again, of course.
Without knowing it, they were helping the beautiful animal survive.
You can well imagine that I did not feel the need to close it properly.
