The Northern Lights are a beautiful natural phenomenon and a very special experience. Watching the intense green light dance in the dark night from a thick frozen lake. Like a flock of birds flocking together and scattering again. Pulling away for a moment and then coming back again. Always a different pattern. It seems as if nature is having as much fun as we as spectators. A performance in an open-air theatre without the certainty of knowing exactly where and when it starts.
Jealous of the people in that lonely house in the distance. Of course they keep the curtains open!
Photo technically it does require some attention; low aperture (f/2) and long shutter speed (15-30 sec) using a tripod of course. And white light between 2800 - 4000k.
