In black and white, the Juttershuisje on Vlieland takes on an almost timeless look. Without colour, the structure of the wood, the play of light and shadow and the emptiness of the beach stand out even more. The beachcomber finds around the cottage seem even quieter, as if the wind itself has momentarily died down. This photo captures not only a place, but also a feeling - of peace, simplicity and transience at the edge of the sea.
