About ‘Beach access Ostseebad Baabe through the dunes to the sea’ by Mirko Boy

A path to the beach through the dunes, a romantic beach descent. Even in February, the island of Rügen has its special moments, often without any snow, but with plenty of fine sandy beaches and the Baltic Sea shining on the horizon.
The photo shows a wooden path covered with beach sand and framed by the dunes, which tend to have a golden yellow colour in winter. The Baltic Sea can be seen from the centre of the picture to the horizon. The beach access is separated from the dunes by a small fence made of wire and simple concrete fence posts. A demarcation so that the area of the dunes is not trampled, an important flood protection measure. The sky forms the upper half of the picture, in a soft blue colour with veiled clouds.
The tranquillity shown in the picture reflects this winter time, when there are few guests on the island of Rügen and the beach invites you to take long, almost solitary walks. Here you can see a day that is so beautifully sunny, with little wind, ideal for going out and relaxing.
