In the forest of Groesbeek, these three wild chestnuts were lying on the ground, still together in their husks. I saw them lying on a plateau, in the middle of the paths where it was busy with traffic of cars going to a parking lot. The sun was shining so beautifully in the background and I had to capture the chestnuts. But it sure looked crazy to the hikers. To avoid getting dirty I put a large piece of plastic on the ground where I lay down. With my macro lens I then searched for the most beautiful compositions. The sun was shining on the autumn leaves in the background while the chestnuts were in the shade. A perfect setting for taking this photo.
Nice to mention is that I had a runner-up prize for this photo in the Green Camera photo contest, a nature photography competition held annually.
