Atmospheric evening on the IJsselkade in Deventer by Fotografiecor .nl

This photograph captures the atmosphere of a Hanseatic city after sunset. By using a slow shutter speed, the headlights of passing traffic are transformed into flowing streaks of light that criss-cross the historic IJsselkade. The rain-soaked road surface transforms into a mirror, in which the characteristic tower of the Grote of Lebuïnuskerk and the warm glow from the windows are atmospherically reflected. The combination of the cool, blue night tones and the warm artificial light creates a rich contrast.

As a photographer based in the Overijssel region, I am fascinated by the transformation of our Hanseatic towns as soon as night falls. Deventer takes on an almost magical character at night, where centuries-old heritage and modern city life literally converge in this place. Capturing this reflective stillness amidst the movement is a tribute to the timeless charm of our IJssel cities

This work looks superb in a modern or industrial interior, where the dynamic lines and deep night colours provide a powerful visual accent. For the best possible result, I recommend a finish on acrylic glass or metal (Alu-Dibond); this enhances the reflections and the depth of the nocturnal colours in a truly impressive way.

Bring the atmospheric magic of Deventer into your home and let your wall speak for itself with this tranquil evening scene.
