A unique view of Astron's Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope (WSRT), one of the largest radio telescopes in the world. No fewer than 14 dishes are set up in this Drenthe landscape, with a diameter of 25 metres each. On a warm late summer evening (September 2016), having to follow a winding path of some 3 kilometres (Milky Way path) straight through the forest in pitch darkness for this photo. Scary but absolutely worth it. The numerous stars came out in a brilliant way. Enjoy it, as did I!
