February in park de Plantage Culemborg.
Park de Plantage, Culemorg's city park, was designed by architects J.D. and L.P. Zocher in 1850.
The park is beautiful all year round, but I prefer walking here in February, when the thousands of crocuses bloom.
Almost the entire park turns purple then; amazing!
I took this photo in late February 2025. You need the sun for the flowers to open, and on this bright day you could already feel spring in the air.
The crocus symbolises new hope and positivity. The crocus gets its name from the Greek word Crocus, which means saffron. The spice saffron has been extracted from the saffron crocus since ancient times.
