Dance of light and stone
The photograph captures the soft, undulating curves of the sandstone walls, carved by water and wind over millennia.
The vibrant red and orange tones of the rock dominate the image, with some areas having a deep, almost purplish-red colour.
The contrast is dramatic, as the sun's rays fall in through the narrow opening at the top and illuminate the walls with a warm, fiery glow.
The textures of the stone are almost tangible, with distinct vertical stripes and smooth, undulating surfaces. A small sliver of the bright blue sky is visible at the top, providing a sharp but beautiful contrast to the intense colours of the canyon walls.
