About ‘Another place. Anthony Gormsby’ by Hans Lok

Just a little north of Liverpool in the wide mouth of the Mersey lies the town of Crosby. At high tide there is a wide beach, but when the tide is out the stretch of sand stretches for hundreds of metres. Artist Antony Gormsby placed a large number of identical statues of a naked man looking out over the water there. At high tide, you only see the statues close to the dunes sometimes almost under the sand. As the water subsides, more and more male figures appear. First their heads and then their bodies. With rising water, they disappear again. Even on a beautiful clear sunny afternoon, it is an alienating sight to see those figures, already weather-beaten and salt-touched and overgrown over the years, staring silently across the water. An occasion for contemplation. Where am I, who am I. Back to the bare basics. The body nature.

Most photographs are created intuitively. It is an image that strikes me, usually a combination of form and color in which a part of reality is framed into an image. The result is a fitting form.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
