About ‘Among Storr’s guards’ by Jip van Bodegom

During a hike to The Old Man of Storr on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, a landscape unfolds that feels almost otherworldly. The jagged rock formations rise dark and massive from the green hillside, whilst the low-hanging mist and heavy air lend the scene a mysterious quality.

In the centre, a narrow path winds its way upwards between the wet grass and the rocks. The tiny hiker at the bottom of the frame really brings home just how immense this place is. It is precisely this contrast between man and landscape that makes the photograph so powerful: you can feel the grandeur of nature and, at the same time, the stillness of the moment.

What struck me whilst taking this photograph was the rugged atmosphere of Skye. Not a perfectly clear view, but mist, threatening clouds, dark rocks and deep shades of green. It was precisely that weather that gave the photograph its character and made the hike all the more impressive.

This piece fits well in an interior where adventure, tranquillity and nature come together. It is a photograph for lovers of Scotland, walking, rugged landscapes and places that make you feel how small you are in the face of nature.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
