Even a spent flower can have beauty in it. Especially in a black-and-white version. This series came about after a day's work in the garden. I cut off spent flowers and pulled weeds out of the ground. I left the nearly dead flowers hanging for a while. These formed the inspiration for this drawing in pencil. Together with the composition, the fragile leaves make a beautiful drawing.
