After a tropical rainstorm, Kidepo Valley National Park transforms into a different landscape. The arid ground shines, the air is fresh, and the grass seems greener than ever. In this calm after the storm, the baboons appear - their fur still damp, their faces full of expression. As they warm themselves in the soft sunlight breaking through, they play and groom each other, as if the rain has brought a new beginning.
The baboon is an animal of contrasts: powerful but social, alert but playful. After the rain, it shows its softer side - calmer, more thoughtful, enjoying the coolness and abundance of food the water has left behind. The vapour rising from the savannah, the glistening droplets on leaves and fur, and the peaceful attitude of the group together create a moment of pure serenity.
This photo collection captures that sense of renewal and harmony: a view of Kidepo when the rain has disappeared, but the traces of life and beauty still hang in the air.
