About ‘African rites’ by Quinta Mandala

A young African shows himself here in all his splendour. Almost still a child, he looks fearless and proud and is aware of his dignity. A broad, red and natural-coloured band is tightly wound around his head and divides his hair at the highest point of his head, which flares out to the right and left like two pompoms. An elongated decorative brooch is emblazoned in the centre of his forehead. The boy's face is painted in a bright red colour to form an elaborate mask. A narrow part of his forehead, the tip of his nose and his lips are uncoloured. His earlobes are adorned with large, double shapes covered in red ornaments. Countless thin metal hoops cover his upper neck. Thick twisted necklaces rest on the slender neck and stretch down to his narrow chest.

The portrait was created by Quinta Mandala with the help of an image generator and further processed with Photoshop.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
