This night shot in the city centre of Aachen shows the church of St. Michael (also known as St. Dimitrios) in Jesuitenstraße, but from a unique perspective. Instead of focussing directly on the church, the camera focuses on the building opposite. Its glass façade reflects the majestic church in all its splendour. The scene is atmospherically lit by two street lamps, whose light emphasises the calm atmosphere. The glass façade not only captures the image of the church, but also reflects the clouds of the night sky, giving the image a mystical depth. This work of art marvellously captures the quiet beauty and magic of a cityscape at night.
