A tranquil winter landscape in Norway – A frosty landscape with trees by Nanda Bussers

A winter landscape in Norway, photographed from above, featuring bare trees and bushes emerging from a frozen and icy landscape.

‘The Breath of Norway’ came about during the two years I lived in Norway with my husband. It was a period in which nature formed a large part of our daily lives and in which I got to know the country better and better, from the vast landscapes and rugged coastlines to the soft light, the mountains, the ice and the endless changes of the seasons.

For me, this series is not just about what I saw there, but above all about how it felt to be there. The space, the silence, the light and the rhythm of nature had something special about them. Sometimes grand and overwhelming, sometimes, on the contrary, small and almost still.

When putting the series together, I therefore sought not only the most beautiful landscapes, but images that, taken together, convey that sense of Norway. Images in which you can lose yourself for a moment, discover a detail or simply linger a little longer.

With ‘The Breath of Norway’, I want to bring some of that sense of breathing space that I experienced there into your home. A visual haven of tranquillity on the wall, inspired by nature and the memories of a special period in my life.
