A small view through the fog over the Zaan
On an early morning. The thick fog opens a little on the river. The bollards mirror tightly in the calm waters of the river. The eye is drawn to the just-visible houses of Zaandijk. The river zaan on a wintry and misty morning. The cold beats off the photo.
With my work as a street photographer, I show the rough, unpolished sides of city life. With my photos, I try to capture the beauty of everyday moments. The viewer can then invent his or her own story to go with it. I also have a fondness for industrial environments, such as harbour sites and factory buildings, where traces of the industrial past are still present. In doing so, I try to photograph subtle details, using both digital and analogue cameras.

I photograph mainly with an analogue Yashica 635 and a Ricoh AF 5.
