About the artwork
"Black-and-white, cinematic photo with grainy effect as if it were an old shot. A lone gull cleaves the sky over a deserted stretch of harbour, hunting for a fish or a crab. The sky is sombre and filled with texture. The gull glides towards its nest, the scene breathes silence, nostalgia and desolation. The image has an analogue look with film grain, flecks of light and a sense of transience."
With my work as a street photographer, I show the rough, unpolished sides of city life. With my photographs, I try to capture the beauty of everyday moments. The viewer can then invent his or her own story to go with it. I also have a fondness for industrial environments, such as harbour sites and factory buildings, where traces of the industrial past are still present. In doing so, I try to photograph subtle details, using both digital and analogue cameras.
