A dachshund in the quiet shade of the garden by Erika Kaisersot

This illustration depicts a dachshund in a peaceful, slightly shaded garden scene. The little dog sits attentively on a stone step, surrounded by lush greenery and delicate wild plants. Its gaze is directed to the side, conveying calm, alertness and a quiet presence.

The surroundings appear natural and slightly overgrown. Various plants, leaves and delicate flowers grow loosely around the dachshund, creating an organic, lively composition. The background, with its soft transitions and muted colours, reinforces the calm, understated atmosphere.

The light falls gently through the foliage, casting subtle highlights on the fur and plants. The colour palette consists mainly of deep greens, browns and warm natural tones, which lend the motif depth and balance.

The painterly execution is reminiscent of classic oil painting, with visible brushstrokes and fine details. This creates a timeless, tranquil effect that blends particularly well into rooms decorated in a natural style.

This motif is ideal for living spaces in a country house style or featuring botanical elements, bringing a relaxed, nature-inspired atmosphere into the home.

This work is part of the Country House Idyll – Dogs in the Garden series.
