A Glance of Connection – A Portrait of Identity by AidasignArt

This expressive portrait forms the third part of the ‘Spectrum of Pride’ series. The focus is on a dark-skinned woman posed in profile, her gaze directed to the left – towards the central image of the two women intimately connected. Her artfully pinned-up hair is adorned with colourful rows of beads, lending the portrait a particular elegance and individual expressiveness.

The Pride colours dominate the entire composition and create a vibrant, powerful atmosphere. They appear in the colourful, undulating patterns of the background and blend with individual flowers, dots and multicoloured, atom-like shapes. These elements symbolise the countless facets of human identity, individuality and the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community.

The hair itself is rendered in its natural colouring, thereby creating a striking contrast to the vibrant colour scheme of the surroundings. The bold, impasto painting style, with clearly visible brushstrokes, lends the work an intense tactile quality and emphasises its modern, expressive character.

As the third panel of the triptych, the gaze directed to the left establishes a deliberate visual connection to the central motif. Together, the three works tell a story of encounter, closeness, identity and connection. The two portraits frame the intimate encounter in the central panel, presenting the triptych as a cohesive artistic composition.

The work can be presented individually, as a diptych with the central panel, or together with all three motifs as a complete triptych.
