A Boeing 747-8B5(F) cargo plane of Korean Air Cargo has just taken off from the Polderbaan.
The aircraft has the registration HL-7629.
The Boeing 747-8 is a version of the Boeing 747 that was announced on November 14, 2005. Boeing replaced the Boeing 747-400 with it. A cargo version of the 747-8 was also developed. There has been a lot of interest in this cargo version, more than in the passenger version.
As a result of the corona crisis, environmental issues and airline cost reductions, demand for new 747s has dried up. After 50 years, the last 747 built will be delivered by Boeing in 2022. The end of an extraordinary era in aviation.
