These monotypes or monoprints are made with a geliplate and acrylic paint. Uniquely handmade and one-off work, only 1 print can be made of your design. The graphic printing technique and the paper used create all kinds of textures and effects. After making the prints, I tore up the results and made 6 abstract collages from the shreds. The collages were further manipulated with stencilling techniques. Botanical motifs can be recognised here and there. The 6 results were digitally merged into a multi-panel in a kind of tile pattern. A modern handmade artwork, fitting into a contemporary artistic interior. The friendly colours and abstract yet sometimes recognisable composition stimulate the imagination and also make this work very suitable for the children's room.
