This digital artwork depicts a hushed and somewhat enigmatic scene: the emergency exit of the Louis Hartlooper Complex, abstractly rendered in a realistic style with subtle graphic touches. The sculpture is built around a striking yellow door, firmly closed in a frame of various shades of brown, jointed brickwork. The structure of the bricks is invisible and rendered, without traces of time and wear evoking the atmosphere of a forgotten corner.
A sharp, black graffiti tag is limned over the door, contrasting with the bright yellow and suggesting a fleeting human presence, with no one in sight. The light comes from the right and casts a shadow over the door, giving the image a clear separation between light and dark.
In the centre of the door is a narrow, oblong window, secured with simple latticework - functional and without decoration. In front of the door, two worn steps lead up, rough in texture, on which damp spots and peeling paint add subtle details to the transience of the place.
In the foreground are paving stones in dark, brown tones, laid at an angle in an irregular pattern that gives the image depth and rhythm. The artwork exudes silence and desolation, but also a certain everyday poetry: a hidden place where function, decay and colour come together in a moment of unexpected beauty.
