''How or with what equipment a photograph or digital illustration is created is not interesting. The art is to capture the mood or emotion of the moment in images.''
Choosing the Photo Academy in 2011 was a rather impulsive choice for Nico Brons. He is 54 by then. After years of working as a consultant in IT, a serious illness lands him at home. An intense, dark period. Until he realises: the switch has to be turned. I have to deal with this, make something of it. Nico enrols in the full-time course at the Fotoacademie in Amsterdam.
In 2013, he is the first in the Netherlands to graduate with images made with an Iphone. A daring project in the conservative world of photography. As a passionate freelance photographer, Nico Brons has specialised in portrait photography, interior photography, festival and concert recordings and documentary work. Both for companies, and private individuals. In his images, he is guided by intuition and feeling and knows how to seek tension in the subject he captures. By letting myself be touched by the atmosphere, I am alert to that one moment. Being able to capture that, that's what it's all about''.
Nowadays, he mainly focuses on digital art made with AI and Photoshop editing.
