From a very young age I have been fascinated by the world around me, with nature and animals as my greatest source of inspiration. The beautiful details, colours, shapes and structures kept fascinating me. And thus arose my love for creating images. Photography for me is a means to capture these images. In 1994 I graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts in Groningen.
I like to work on long term projects where I create and compose my own images within a certain theme. I prefer to shoot in the studio, so I can adjust the light and atmosphere. My photographs are regularly exhibited and published.
I also photograph pets in the studio, in such a way that their special character and/or characteristics are well presented, with a bit of fun here and there. I am always inspired and touched by all the different personalities of these animals.
I also give workshops on a regular basis because I love to share my passion and knowledge for photography.
