Photography has been a part of my life since childhood—more precisely, since 1963, when my parents gave me my first camera. What began as curiosity developed over many years into a constant in my life.
After numerous analog SLR cameras, I made the switch to more compact technology in 1990. Since then, I have followed the development of digital photography – with cameras from Sony, currently the Alpha 7M3 and Alpha 7M4. For me, technology is always a means to an end: it should enable, not dominate.
For me, a photo is not a constructed ideal, but an honest reflection of what I have seen and felt.
"Anyone who thinks they can learn photography without textbooks is foolish;
but anyone who spends their whole life photographing according to textbooks has no imagination."
Knowledge is important – but it is imagination that brings a picture to life.
What was long a hobby became more at times: as a photojournalist for a local magazine, I was able to capture people, moments, and stories for almost ten years. Today I am retired, but photography has remained. I am on the move, observing, pausing – always with my camera and often with my car, which takes me to where the pictures are taken.
If you haven't found a specific photo here, you may still have discovered something: a moment, a mood, or a perspective.
Thank you for looking at my work.
