About Judith van Gestel
Often people say, 'follow your dreams!' It always sounds so true but at the same time so difficult to actually do just that, no matter what. I am writing this at the time second lockdown is about to start in London. It's 2020, the year of Corona virus, a year that nothing is certain. And during these uncertain times, I decided to listen to me, only me, and do just that, follow my dreams.
Beginning of 2019, me and my husband moved from The Netherlands to London for his work. At that time, I was struggling, made some wrong decisions, work wise, and was lost about my goals in life. Moving to London offered the escape I needed. I dedicated my time to get us settled, meet new people and spoil our sausage dog Bo to death. But I also was able to get my thoughts together. And then Corona hit, and everything changed again.
At some point, during the first lockdown, I wanted to escape the house, my husband was forced to work from home and was in zoom meetings the whole day. So, I decided to pick up my camera, got on my bicycle and cycled into the city. My dream was born. People enjoyed my pictures and I enjoyed photography; the freedom it brings, something that is all mine.
All this resulted in Captured by Judith. I hope you like my pictures. Most is taken in London but soon as we are allowed to travel, my goal is to add many other places!
