My name is Jan Ligthart, a Dutch painter.
While I was originally just an amateur, in late 2019 I decided to devote (part of) my time to professionalising my activities as a painter.
Through taking workshops and (online) classes, I try to develop myself as a painter.
My favourite medium is acrylic paint and I prefer working with the palette knife. Especially by creating abstract works, mostly in series with a common theme, I hope to appeal to an audience that understands what I mean by it, what emotions and thoughts are behind it.
Since 31 March 2022, my company name has been changed to "JGR-Art", with the motto "Art for Art's Sake".
My goal is to create art for every wallet.

My inspiration comes from the world around me. However, I try to abstract the sights and sounds, while sometimes leaning towards figurative work.
I work in acrylics, mainly with palet knives.
I hope the audience gets the same emotions as I have.
