Writing is my main activity. Writing is all about meaning: you have something to say and you set to work to find a form for it. A work is successful if the reader understands my concoctions. My digital drawings are at the very opposite end of the spectrum. I start without any intention, I don't want to depict anything, not express anything. I am guided only by the form. Only afterwards do I decide what the drawing is about. If the viewer sees something else in it, that's fine. The fact that a drawing does not depict something does not mean that everything is permissible. I am constantly researching the things that can lift a form above an ordinary 'picture'.
