Faszinierende Schwarz-Weiß-Fotos der mutigen Automobilpioniere. 1908 - Vor mehr als hundert Jahren steckten sowohl das Automobil als auch die Fotografie noch in den Kinderschuhen. Zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts war das Automobil eine noch junge Technologie mit keiner der Infrastrukturen, die wir heute als selbstverständlich ansehen: befestigte Straßen, Straßenkarten, Ampeln, Tankstellen, Parkplätze oder gar Schnellstraßen. Im Straßenbild der Städte waren Autos gegenüber Kutschen und Fuhrwerken in der Minderheit. Ein Rennen, das die Welt damals kaum für möglich gehalten hatte. Von New York über Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Alaska, Russland, Berlin bis Paris - und das im Winter! Sechs Teams aus den USA, Frankreich, Italien und Deutschland traten an. Die Originalfotos wurden vom Reisefotografen Christian Müringer sorgfältig restauriert unter Bewahrung ihrer Authentizität. Diese Bilder versetzen Sie zurück in eine vergangene Ära der großen Pioniere der Technik.
