National Park De Maasduinen (The Netherlands)

National Park De Maasduinen is one of the three national parks in North Limburg. It is a forest and heath area, situated on an elongated sand ridge between the Meuse and the German border. It is located largely within the territory of the municipality of Bergen. The park stretches over a length of more than 20 kilometers and has an average width of two to three kilometers. In total it is more than 4500 hectares. It contains the longest river dune belt in the Netherlands, created in thousands of years by a combination of water, wind and people.
