LOVE THE OCEAN on canvas, poster, wallpaper and ArtFrame by Pia Schneider
My love for the sea has stayed with me my whole life – along with the longing to capture its light, its vastness and its many moods in art. This series brings together photography, collage, illustration and graphic interpretations on the theme of the sea, taken along the Mediterranean (Greece) as well as the North Sea – on Sylt, in the Wadden Sea and in Zeeland.
The photographs were taken with different cameras and techniques; Photoshop was used for editing, effects and filters. Some of the works are purely graphic, occasionally combined with typography, to express my connection to the sea.
In 2007, I held an exhibition titled "Abstractions of the Sea", showing paintings on this very theme – a success with visitors that I still remember with great joy, and one that helped shape this series.
