Impressions of Iceland
Iceland, the land of ice and fire, of glaciers and volcanoes, lakes and fjords, hot pools and boiling mud. The land of four seasons in one day, where you have to prepare for all kinds of weather but where sun, wind and clouds continually provide spectacular lighting effects. The land where nature rules and where you just may get stuck somewhere because a ford is temporary less fordable. Land on the edge of the world, but perhaps also the most beautiful place in that same world. I visited Iceland in 2005, 2008, 2012, 2019 and 2022. These works are "paintifications" of photos taken during these journeys: the pixels are exposed to filters and textures to give the image a sketchy, painterly character.
