Boezemmolen no. 6 - Haastrecht

Tank mill 6 is a windmill in Haastrecht in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a round stone mill with a distinct bell shape. With a flight of more than thirty meters, this is the windmill with the largest flight in the Netherlands. The mill is the sixth in a series of a total of seven bosom mills that bumped the bosom of the western part of the Lopiker and the eastern part of the Krimpenerwaard. The water was extracted from these Vills to Hooge Boezem by these mills. The bosom mills, originally all seesaw mills, were built over the years from 1486. Tank mill 6 is the property of Stichting Het Zuid-Hollands Landschap and since 2005 there were plans to rebuild this mill, which eventually started in 2010. In October 2010, a new hood was placed on the mill and on May 14, 2011, National Mill Day, the mill was officially put into use. At the end of 2017, the missing ongoing work was installed in the mill, including a 6.20 meter diameter wooden wheel. The mill is therefore completely complete and grinding. Discussions are currently underway with the De Stichtse Rijnlanden district water board about the conditions under which the mill can grind water in part of the original Hooge Boezem.
