In dit album staan foto's van de Antonov An-225 Mrija. In november 2016 had ik het genoegen om dit unieke toestel van dichtbij te kunnen zien en te fotograferen. De Antonov An-225 Mrija was een vrachtvliegtuig, ontworpen door het ontwerpbureau Antonov. Het vliegtuig was ontworpen om de Boeran, de Russische tegenhanger van de spaceshuttle, boven op haar romp te vervoeren. De An-225 was een vergrote versie van de Antonov An-124. Mrija is Oekraïens voor droom. Gemeten naar maximum startgewicht was de An-225 het grootste vliegtuig dat ooit is gebouwd. Het enige gebouwde toestel is helaas tijdens de Russische invasie van de Oekraïne in 2022 vernietigd. De Oekraïense regering heeft laten weten dat zij de intentie heeft om het toestel in de toekomst te herbouwen.
