About ‘transverse flax on the field’ by Eugene Winthagen

a farmer does his best to dry the nearly golden flax in his field at harvest time in long unison rows, before it is removed tied together. In some places the flax lies out of rhythm, probably blown away by a gust of wind. Or because it just felt like lying cross-legged for a change. So there is also a bit of symbolism hidden in the photo.
