This work captures a sunset over the Kraaijenbergse Plassen. A moment when the day gently retreats and nature seems to hold its breath. The sky colours in layers of gold, pink and soft blue, reflected in the calm water that seems almost unrealistically still. The horizon is low, giving the light plenty of room.
This photo was created during a walk with no purpose, just a desire to be still for a moment. What I found was this: a landscape that asks for nothing, but gives everything. The image is not just a representation of a place, but of a feeling.
The atmosphere is warm and comforting. The work evokes a feeling of coming home, of not having to do anything for a while. For some it will evoke memories of summers by the water, for others it is a place to unwind in your thoughts.
In an interior, this sculpture acts as an anchor point of tranquillity. It suits people who appreciate the beauty of the ordinary, and anyone looking for a visual moment of stillness in their home.
