storks on the nest
The white stork is a large, white bird with black wing edges and red legs and bill. A stork grows to be approximately between 100 and 120 cm long (bill to tail end). The wing span is 155 to 165 cm. The bird weighs 2.3 to 4.4 kg. Storks have long legs and a long pointed bill. Male and female, except for their size, have the same appearance. In this regard, the male is on average larger than the female.[2] The blackness of the flight feathers and wing feathers is caused by the pigment melanin.[3]
