The visually rich fern forests of the Doongalla area at the base of the Dandenong ranges provided the inspiration for this painting. Here the incredible patterns and colors weave a wonderful escape from the city into an enchanting world.
In this work I would like to engage the viewer with their own imagination, to provide a visual space where the viewer can contemplate the ebb and flow of form and color, escape from the everyday, the representational world, to a world of the imaginary.
The natural world is a dazzling continuum of incredible patterns and colours varying in complexity and intensity. The shifting state of form, colours and pattern found in the landscape inspires my photography and painting practice.
