The mundane in unusual ways. A lone cyclist in the Dutch countryside. The image seems to be captured in slow motion, conveying an atmosphere both abstract and picturesque. As if in visual poetry.
My aim to photograph the world around me in an expressionistic way. Black and white, coarse grain, motion blur, haze, drops or smudges on the lens. Photographing from a feeling, where I intuitively release the shutter to create an interplay of shadow, shape and light. It is my technique to show how beautiful, interesting, wonderful the world can be when you look at it in a different way.
In this work, a strong atmospheric dream world is palpable and I hope to enchant the viewer.
