once when I went to the side
Two ducks approached
With loud snapping
They splashed wildly in the water
Sometimes you get lucky. After a photo walk around my house, I stopped for a moment at the moat. Whether they thought I was going to spread bread I don't know but I was hardly standing there when a pair of mallards came flying in. Fortunately, I had my telephoto lens on the camera body and was able to take a few pictures's before they splashed into the water. Because the camera was set for a lot of depth-of-field and it was rather dreary weather, the shutter speed was quite slow. But by moving with the birds, the ducks were quite sharp. Only in the wings can you see the momentum the birds had. The original image was converted to black and white and converted in Photoshop. As a result, the ducks are now white and the background black.
