About ‘industrial ghosts - Conveyor belts in a Belgian steelworks’ by maxxe

This place was like a huge adventure playground for me - one of those places that make you feel tiny and leave you in awe. In front of me stretched the conveyor belts of a huge steelworks in the east of Belgium, with soft light streaming through the cracks in the roof. The dust in the air, the hum of silence - it all lent the atmosphere something almost sacred. I remember wandering through this industrial labyrinth and thinking how incredible it is to witness something so grandiose and yet so forgotten.

This trip was one of the most formative experiences of my life. The sheer size, the history in every girder and every rusting piece of machinery - it was like stepping into another world. And yet sadness resonates now. The demolition crews have arrived, and piece by piece everything has been torn down. What can you see in this photo? It's gone. Just like that, erased from the world. It breaks my heart to know that this moment and this place will never exist again. There is something deeply bittersweet about being one of the last people to experience a piece of history that is now lost forever.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
