About the artwork

The Monument to Victor Emanuel II is a monument in the Italian capital Rome. It was erected in honor of Victor Emanuel II, the first king of reunited Italy, whose colossal equestrian statue occupies the central place.

The imposing white building is located on the northern flank of Capitoline Hill and borders Piazza Venezia. Its construction began in 1885 and was not completed until 1935, but the monument was officially inaugurated as early as 1911.

The structure of the Vittoriano is inspired by the Altar of the Sea of Pergamon and the sanctuary of Fortuna Primigenia in Palestrina. The first essentially consists of a long portico flanked by two propylene; the second is a temple complex with several staircases and terraces, built on a hillside. Because of its neoclassical style, the monument clearly refers to Italy's ancient past: it repeats Roman art forms that in turn have been influenced by Greek art. The two four-storeyed towers that crown the building imitate the similar groups of statues that were erected on the Roman triumphal arches in antiquity.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
