golden horizon at dusk

by Manon Van den Berg

This expressive, abstract landscape captures a mystical interplay between water, sky and trees, and is hand-painted in oil.
The powerful, dark-blue sky breaks open above a horizon of deep red, warm yellow and orange hues.
Slender trees, subtly accented with golden leaves in the form of flecks of gold leaf, are beautifully reflected in the calm, turquoise water in the foreground.
The golden details glow beautifully in different types of light, giving the painting a luxurious and vibrant appearance.
A painting full of depth and texture that radiates both tranquillity and dynamic energy.
Perfect as an atmospheric eye-catcher in a modern or industrial interior.
My inspiration for this oil painting lies in the contrast between cool and warm, and tranquillity and energy.
I wanted to explore how deep, dark shades can blend with the warmth of red and orange and the sparkle of gold.
The message of this artwork is that contrasts do not have to clash, but rather reinforce and complement one another.
It shows that there is beauty in the tension between the stormy sky and the serene water, and that it is precisely the addition of the golden leaves that brings the whole scene to life.
