The Fanal forest on the Portuguese island of Madeira. A forest consisting of bay trees. But of a different species of laurel than the leaves we add to our food. Some of the trees are ancient and they thrive in the often humid conditions on this part of the island.
The weather conditions and the age of the trees give them the most wondrous shapes.
