Tubeworms build tubes from sand, lime or slime. The tubes protect the vulnerable worm from abrasive sand and enemies. Tubeworms usually have tentacles or capture arms, which they stick out of the tube to catch food with. On the beach you can find empty tubes, which look different for each species
