About ‘bleeding fairy helmets’ by Jan van der Knaap
These are three Bleeding Fairy Helmets. They were very small, maybe two inches high, on top of a small log when I found them. Bleeding Fairy Helmets usually grow in groups or bundles on dead wood of deciduous trees, especially beech and oak. They are found mostly in summer through fall and are common in the Low Countries.
