Zabriskie Point, a bizarre landscape overlooking Death Valley National Park in California. For work, I got to head to Los Angeles again and had a few days to get out and about. Of course, never without camera and tripod, which are always standard in my suitcase. This time I had set my sights on Death Valley. First on the programme was a sunrise at the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, which can be seen here https://www.werkaandemuur.nl/nl/shopwerk/Mesquite-Flat-Sand-Dunes/1105565/132 After that, a sunset at the Badwater Basin and finally, the next morning, a sunrise at Zabriskie Point. So it was again an early start to get up in time to be there before the sun rises. Now I had been here before and had thought of picking a different vantage point this time. The easiest way is to go from the car park to the viewpoint but, now I knew that there was also a path over the peaks on the right, from where you also have a great view of the landscape. Advantage : you are a lot higher and there is no one else. Disadvantage : you have to climb I piece before you reach your vantage point. After some scrambling over the ridges of the peaks, I arrived at the location from where you had a magnificent view of the colourful landscape in the foreground and Death Valley National Park in the background. To do justice to the immense landscape, I opted to merge several shots into 1 panorama. After an hour of photographing at this spot, I was able to return to the spot where the car was parked, tired but satisfied, and my time here was over and I could return to Los Angeles.
